The organisation manages one of the largest development pipelines in the country, covering low to high-density housing, mixed-use schemes and adaptive reuse of existing buildings across urban and suburban locations.
Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to gain exposure across the full lifecycle of residential property development. You will join a highly motivated in-house cost management team supporting a major national housing delivery programme.The position offers broad commercial involvement, working closely with planning, development, construction, asset management and investment teams, while applying core QS skills in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities

Preparing early-stage cost estimates, development budgets and viability models

Supporting site appraisals and feasibility assessments

Managing and reviewing cost plans, budgets and post-contract expenditure

Procuring and liaising with external consultants, contractors and development partners

Providing cost, value engineering, procurement and commercial advice to design teams

Reviewing external QS reports and cost documentation

Supporting project managers with day-to-day commercial and financial oversight

Contributing to contract, claims and supply-chain negotiations where required

Maintaining and improving internal cost databases, templates and processes
What you'll need to succeed
- 2-8 years' relevant experience with a contractor, consultancy (PQS) or developer

Residential development experience preferred but not essential

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar

Chartered or working towards chartership

Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability

Strong MS Excel and general MS Office capability

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
