CTG 3D is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented BIM Designer to join our growing team.
This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while collaborating with colleagues, clients and multidisciplinary project teams across Ireland and internationally.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality BIM models, producing coordinated project documentation and supporting BIM coordination throughout the project lifecycle. You will work across a variety of construction, engineering and pharmaceutical-sector projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate, coordinated 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
- Produce, update and manage 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Support clash detection and multidisciplinary model coordination using Navisworks.
- Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project standards.
- Work with internal teams, external designers, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Follow project BIM Execution Plans, modelling standards, naming conventions and document-control procedures.
- Upload, manage and review project information within Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Assist with model federation, coordination reviews and the resolution of identified clashes.
- Maintain clear records of model revisions, design changes and outstanding coordination items.
- Deliver assigned models and documentation to the required quality and agreed programme.
- Participate in online coordination meetings, design reviews and internal quality checks.
- Raise missing information, design conflicts and delivery risks promptly.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Practical experience using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience using Navisworks for model review, clash detection or coordination.
- A good understanding of BIM workflows and coordinated model production.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage assigned work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to quality.
- Ability to meet deadlines and communicate early when issues may affect delivery.
- Professional written and spoken English.
Desirable Skills and Experiences
- Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud, including Docs, Design Collaboration or Model Coordination.
- Experience using Autodesk Forma.
- Experience working on pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, manufacturing or other technically complex projects.
- Knowledge of Irish or UK construction standards and BIM requirements.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams.
- Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans, Common Data Environments and ISO 19650 principles.
- Experience with Dynamo, Revit model checking or other BIM automation and quality-control tools.
- Relevant qualification in BIM, architecture, engineering, construction or a related discipline.
Remote-Working Requirements
As this is a fully remote role, applicants must have a professional home-working environment and reliable internet connectivity.
The required setup includes:
- A Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit workstation suitable for running current Autodesk software.
- Intel Core i7, AMD Ryzen 7 or equivalent processor.
- Minimum 32 GB RAM; 64 GB is preferred for larger or federated models.
- Dedicated NVIDIA or AMD graphics card with at least 6 GB of graphics memory.
- Solid-state drive with sufficient free space for project files and Autodesk applications.
- Stable broadband connection with a recommended minimum speed of 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.
- A wired internet connection is strongly preferred during model uploads and coordination sessions.
- Suitable webcam, headset and microphone for online meetings.
- A secure, quiet and professional workspace.
Final workstation and connectivity suitability will be confirmed as part of the recruitment process. Any company-provided virtual desktop, software, security or equipment arrangements will be explained before appointment.
