The Role
As a Diagnostic / Master Technician, you will play a key role within our workshop, diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults across modern vehicle systems.
Using the latest manufacturer diagnostic equipment, technical information and a systematic approach, you will ensure vehicles are diagnosed and repaired accurately and efficiently.
You will also act as a source of technical expertise within the workshop, supporting and coaching other technicians while continuing to develop your own knowledge through manufacturer training.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle faults.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer and Windsor Motors standards.
- Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical systems to accurately identify vehicle faults.
- Work confidently with modern vehicle technology, including EV, hybrid and high-voltage systems, where trained and authorised.
- Complete vehicle road tests and quality checks to confirm successful repairs.
- Keep up to date with manufacturer technical bulletins, product developments and new vehicle technologies.
- Provide clear written and verbal reports on diagnostic, service and repair work.
- Liaise with the Workshop Controller, Service Advisors and Parts team to support efficient vehicle repair and customer communication.
- Complete all relevant administration, including warranty documentation, accurately and on time.
- Support, coach and share technical knowledge with other workshop team members.
- Achieve agreed workshop productivity and efficiency targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Attend manufacturer and dealership technical training as required.
- Follow all dealership Health & Safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
What We're Looking For
You will be an experienced technician with strong diagnostic ability and a genuine interest in modern automotive technology.
Ideally, you will have:
- A recognised qualification as a Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
- Strong experience in vehicle diagnostics, fault finding and repair.
- Experience diagnosing electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
- Previous experience within a manufacturer or franchised dealership environment is desirable.
- Master Technician or manufacturer diagnostic accreditation is an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
- EV, hybrid or high-voltage qualifications are an advantage.
- The ability to interpret manufacturer technical information and diagnostic data.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting repairs right first time.
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- A full clean driving licence.

Additional Information:
The hours of attendance are based on a 39 -hour week. The hours vary from 8am – 6pm
