Job Title: Residential Social Care Worker – Children’s Services (Kildare)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our established children’s residential service in Kildare, located close to Athy and within easy commuting distance of Kildare Town, Carlow, and Portlaoise.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and support to children in a residential setting
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment
- Support young people in developing life skills, education goals, and personal aspirations
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and care documentation
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and care plan development
- Adhere to all organisational and regulatory policies and procedures
- Work as part of a team within a 24-hour residential service, including evening and weekend shifts
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- A recognised qualification in Social Care or equivalent (Level 7/8 Social Care, Level 8 Psychology, Level 7 Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling, Youth & Community Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching, Nursing, Addiction Studies where appropriate)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
- Full Irish driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience working with children in residential care
- Training or experience in trauma-informed or attachment-based practice

- Competitive salary of €18 per hour with a minimum of €41,400, this is excluding premiums for sleeping allowance and double pay on bank holidays, with a maximum salary of €46,008
