The Electrical Authorised Person is responsible for implementation of the electrical safety rules on their assigned project, ensuring that a safe system of work is always adhered to.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:

The Authorised Person is responsible for implementing, administering, monitoring and auditing the application of Electrical Safety Rules

The Authorised Person will provide the necessary cover for all systems and installations for which the company has control of the electrical danger.

The Authorised Person will ensure Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems is adhered to on the project.

The Authorised Person will manage the LOTO processes and procedures onsite in alignment with Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems.

The Authorised Person must ensure the low voltage switching plans are executed on site for all LV circuits.

The Authorised Person must ensure the high voltage/medium voltage switching plans are executed on site for all HV/MV circuits. Optional not mandatory

Take responsibility of the prospective systems carrying out switching operations on the HV/LV system.

Were applicable and directed by management team, they must implement the QR code process for each ACB/MCCB on the project.

Ensure that a system is in place to investigate any equipment subject to an Operational Restriction.

Ensuring that all Accidents, Incidents or Dangerous Occurrence associated with work on Electrical Distribution Systems, are immediately notified to the Senior Authorised Person.

The Authorised Person needs to review to ensure the correct Arc Flash PPE is worn by personnel working within electrical rooms in alignment with details stipulated within the arc flash study. Where no arc flash study exists, the guidelines must adhere to Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems.

Implementing Maintenance policies for the Technical Services Department

Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings

Assistance with the close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan – all with the support of the site project manager.

Provide the safety and quality leadership required on all projects.

Ensure all Subcontractor documentation including safety documentation is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.

All other duties associated with this role.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
-
A trade background and 10 previous experience managing large installation projects and sub-contractors.

Optional not mandatory - Completed high voltage authorised person training course in last 2 years
-
Completed low voltage authorised person training course in last 2 years
-
Proven record of supervising and managing large installation projects
-
In depth knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality compliance

Ability to work well within strict deadlines
-
Ability to drive a large-scale project
