Atlantic Building Consultants is a growing architectural and building consultancy practice based in West Clare, with offices in Kilrush and Cooraclare. We work on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects, predominantly across the Mid-West, with projects also extending to Dublin, Galway, Mayo and Cork.
We are looking for an experienced Architect / Architectural Technician to join our team on a full-time basis.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced architectural professional to join a collaborative, remote-first practice working across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and other building projects.
The successful candidate will be involved in projects from concept and design development through to planning, technical design and construction stages, depending on experience and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing architectural designs and technical drawings from concept through to construction stage.
- Producing high-quality Revit models and drawings.
- Preparing planning applications, construction documentation and detailed technical information.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Carrying out site visits, surveys and inspections as required.
- Assisting with project coordination and ensuring drawings and documentation are delivered to a high standard.
- Working independently while contributing effectively to a remote-first team.
- Managing workloads and project deadlines across multiple projects.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience in an architectural practice, consultancy or related environment.
- Strong proficiency in Revit — 3/4 years' practical experience is essential.
- Good knowledge of Irish planning, building regulations and construction practices.
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A strong eye for detail and a practical approach to design and construction.
- Full driving licence and the ability to travel to project sites when required.
Desirable
- Experience with Enscape and architectural visualisation/rendering.
- Experience preparing planning applications in Ireland.
- Experience working through technical and construction stages.
- Experience with residential and/or commercial projects.
- Relevant professional architectural qualification or architectural technology qualification.

Location

Our projects are predominantly located throughout the Mid-West, with additional projects in Dublin, Galway, Mayo and Cork. Occasional travel to sites and our West Clare offices will be required.
