Yard Person / Formwork Yard Operative
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Yard Person / Formwork Yard Operative to manage and organise our yard, plant, tools, and formwork materials.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in formwork or construction who understands how shuttering/formwork materials should be organised, stored, maintained, and prepared for use on site.
Main Duties
- Organising and maintaining the yard and storage areas
- Sorting, stacking and organising formwork/shuttering materials
- Preparing formwork materials and equipment for jobs
- Keeping materials properly stored and easily accessible
- Managing and organising tools and equipment
- Checking tools and carrying out basic repairs and maintenance where possible
- Loading and unloading materials
- Operating plant and machinery as required
- Keeping the yard clean, safe and well organised
- Monitoring materials and highlighting damaged or missing equipment
- Helping ensure equipment and materials are ready when required for site
Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous formwork/shuttering experience
- Good knowledge of formwork materials and equipment
- Experience working in a construction yard or similar environment
- Ability to operate plant such as digger/excavator and forklift
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for keeping the yard organised
- Basic mechanical/tool repair skills would be a strong advantage
- Good awareness of health and safety
- Reliable, practical and hardworking attitude
Relevant plant tickets/certifications would be an advantage.
