Solar PV Electrician – QC / Testing & Commissioning
We are looking for a qualified Solar PV Electrician with a QC number to join our team.
This is a solar-focused electrical role, mainly covering the inspection, testing, commissioning and sign-off of solar PV systems. You will also carry out pre-start surveys for upcoming solar projects, helping to check site readiness, identify any technical issues and support a smooth installation process from start to finish.
This role would suit a qualified electrician who is confident with testing, compliance and commissioning, and who wants to work in the growing renewable energy sector.
The Role
As our Solar PV Electrician, you will be responsible for checking that solar PV installations are completed safely, correctly and to the required standard before handover.
You will inspect and test completed systems, commission solar PV installations, complete the required paperwork and certification, and work closely with the installation and project teams to resolve any issues before completion.
You will also attend sites before projects start to carry out surveys, assess project requirements and flag any technical or practical issues that need to be addressed before installation begins.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspecting and testing completed solar PV installations
· Commissioning solar PV systems before handover
· Acting as the QC electrician on solar projects
· Completing testing, certification and sign-off documentation
· Carrying out pre-start surveys for upcoming solar projects
· Checking site readiness before installation begins
· Identifying faults, risks, remedial works or technical issues
· Liaising with installation teams, project managers and customers where required
· Ensuring works are completed safely and to the required electrical standards
· Supporting the smooth handover of completed solar PV systems
· Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, safety and compliance
Requirements
· Fully qualified electrician
· QC number required
· Experience in inspection, testing and commissioning
· Strong knowledge of electrical safety and compliance
· Ability to complete accurate site surveys and reports
· Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
· Good communication skills
· Full driving licence
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
· Previous experience working on solar PV projects
· Experience with domestic or commercial solar installations
· Knowledge of SEAI and Safe Electric requirements
· Experience with inverters, battery storage or monitoring systems
· Previous experience completing solar PV certification or sign-off
· Safe Pass and Manual Handling
