Location: The beautiful grounds of St Kieran’s College in the vibrant city of Kilkenny. Working from home, at agreed times will be considered
Contract: 2-year Fixed contract with 2-year extension option subject to performance.
Working Hours: Full time – Mon to Friday. 37.5hr/ week standard contract. 24 days annual leave.

Person Specification
We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are passionate about climate action and wish to join a multidisciplinary team driven to help achieve the Climate Action Plan 2030 across energy users in the Southeast Region.. Finance professionals with excellent attention to detail and a demonstrable capacity for delivering accurate work on time in a busy working environment. We are looking for solution-focused people who are willing to bring a dynamic approach to the role. Candidates will have excellent verbal and written skills to translate complex financial data to a diverse range of stakeholders.
What you will be doing
· Reporting to the Finance Manager.
Accounting
· Issue sales invoices, allocate payments, and assist with credit control.
· Input and process purchase invoices and code to correct projects, cost codes, etc.
· Process monthly travel expenses.
· Handle and support the financial grants/claims process.
· Record and maintain accurate and complete financial records.
· Prepare information for month-end management accounts.
· Prepare VAT and statutory returns.
· Reconcile bank accounts and accruals.
· Assist with year-end procedures and monthly reporting as required.
· Work with SAGE 50 bookkeeping software.
· Perform filing and general accounting duties
· Manage timesheet templates and queries.
Customer and Administration Support
· Being a key point of contact for all departments on financial and accounting matters
· Coordinate annual audits
· Monitor daily communications and answer queries from suppliers and customers.
· Assist with filing, data entry, and general office duties.
Data Analysis and Reporting
· Compile and analyse project data, track information, and run monthly reports.
Quality and Compliance
· Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System requirements, including performing work according to process documents, procedures, and maintaining necessary records
· Understand and apply quality and environmental policy statements in all aspects of work
· Ensure that the needs and requirements of the company’s customers are understood and delivered
· Enhance the company’s internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates, and improvement ideas
The Ideal Candidate
Each Candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the position have:
· An Accounting Technician qualification or similar preferred.
· At least 2 years of practical accounting experience, working in a busy office.
· Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
· Fluent in spoken and written English.
· Excellent technical skills – proficient in Office365, Sage, and data analysis.
· High level of accuracy.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong commercial focus.
· Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
· A team player who inspires, challenges, and strives for results.
· The ability to be discreet and manage confidential data.
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
· Prior experience of working with SAGE Accounting
· Intermediate Excel skills
