Overview:
We are currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager to join our team at Breedon Cement and Products.
As an Environmental Compliance Manager you will be responsible for developing, preparing and implementing key environmental and planning compliance strategies while also proactively identifying situations that might pose an environmental or planning compliance risk.
- Manage, develop and implement the day-to-day requirements of the respective site Industrial Emissions licences.
- Assist with planning applications and engage with planning authorities and relevant consultants.
- Lead the environmental team to ensure that all requirements for site permits, licences and planning consents (i.e. EPA, Meath CC) and site accreditation (ISO 14001, BES 6001) are provided accurately and on time.
- Setting out of planning consent boundaries, ownership boundaries and floor levels.
- Guide the Environmental Team in the development, review and implementation of suitable procedures, business practice and solutions.
- Prepare planning compliance reports for relevant county councils.
- Prepare monthly reports to feed into the business and group sustainability plan.
- Monitor and gain a full understanding of relevant environmental and planning legislation updates and regulations impacting on the business, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly and in accordance with standard procedures.
- Maintain relationships with and perform as a liaison between the company with regulatory agencies.
- Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectation and ensure quality standard on project deliverables.
- Ensure Compliance with the Company Health and Safety Regulations and Policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility and undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the daily business needs on matters arising.
- Qualification in an environmental field to a degree level.
- Strong experience in an environmental role, 5+ years.
- Experience in reviewing planning documents. (Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports and Natura Impact Statements)
- Practical experience in land surveying essential.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to write technical and non-technical reports to a high level to suit varying audiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to communicate well at all levels, both within and outside of the company.
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong IT skills
- Have a calm and confident manner to handle any challenging situations and promptly ensure that any corrective actions are implemented without delay.
