Barberstown Castle Hotel in Straffan, Co. Kildare. (W23CX40) are currently recruiting for part time Wait Staff for our Function Team to provide food and beverage service for events, banquets, weddings, and conferences.
You will be responsible for assisting in the setting up banquet rooms, serving multi-course meals or buffet items, ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction, and efficiently clearing tables according to specific event timelines.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Event Preparation: Set up tables with linens, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces according to the function sheet. Set up buffet stations or bar areas.
- Guest Service: Welcome guests, assist them to their designated tables, and ensure their needs are met throughout the function.
- Food & Beverage Service: Serve plated dinners, pour wine/beverages, and replenish water as needed. Replenish chafing dishes, utensils, and platters during buffet service.
- Clearing & Resetting: Promptly clear tables of used dishes and glassware. Reset tables for subsequent courses or clean the banquet space entirely after the event concludes.
- Team Coordination: Work as part of a team and communicate closely with the management team to ensure courses are delivered on schedule.
- Any other tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Experience: Previous waiting experience, preferably in a hotel, catering, or high-volume event environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and lift/carry trays of food and equipment.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, friendly, and professional demeanor, even in busy settings.
- Time Management: Ability to multitask and execute service steps in sync with strict event timelines.
- Hygiene & Safety: Strict adherence to HACCP health and food safety regulations.
