Role Purpose
This role is responsible for planning, assembling and testing of pre-production & engineering parts to support new product development and customer demands.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for initial procurement of materials and assembly of engineering samples and raw stock builds.
- Manages inventory of raw materials, finished goods, prototype samples, allocation and shipment of customer samples and conversion of raw stock builds to production.
- Improvement and Maintenance of Pre-Production SMT line in Cork Lab
- Set up and Programming of SMT machine
- Working globally with contract manufacturers and suppliers to facilitate issuance of build instructions and takes appropriate actions
- Analyze pre-production test data and write formal reports on findings
- Develop and implement enhancements as part of continuous improvement
- Facilitate new products transitions from engineering to manufacturing
- Monitors engineering builds, WIP and backlog and performs analysis to proactively identify potential material shortages and carry-out solutions.
- Determine Root-cause assembly failures to ensure issues are understood
- Works with engineering teams to define Bill of Material product structure and manage integrity of BOM and ensures work instructions are clear and concise.
- Works with the Product Line Managers (PLM) on allocation of engineering samples.
- Accountable for on-time delivery to material to internal and external customers.
Education and Key Skills
- Experience across product development, manufacturing and qualifications or operations desirable
- Experience with NPI flows desirable
- SMT machine experience
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking, with the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage assignments with tight deadlines from multiple engineering sources
- Be able to communicate engineering concepts clearly and concisely
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BS/MS in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 8 years of industry experience
- Prefer some experience with VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers and RF/DC source automation, semiconductor testing, measurement techniques to verify and validate product requirements
