About the role
We are seeking candidates with experience in firmware development and hardware platform (i.e. Printed Circuit Board) rework to support our hardware penetration testing lab in Cork, Ireland. The Cork site is home to a range of digital IP teams working on cutting edge IP for the latest Snapdragon chip sets. The security lab team is working with the latest tools and techniques to perform hardware penetration testing. Successful candidates will be joining a vibrant hardware security lab team, with a strong collaboration with several Qualcomm security labs around the global.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
Experience in firmware/low-level programming.
Experience in C/C++ and ARM assembly.
Knowledge in ARM architecture.
Experience in scripting and automation: python and shell.
Experience in lab equipment and hardware debugging tools.
Experience in PCB rework using soldering stations.
Collaborative Problem-Solver across HW/SW Cross-Functional Team.
Good communication skills, curiosity and enthusiasm, ability to work independently and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in advanced PCB rework stations.
Knowledge in RISC-V architecture and assembly.
Knowledge in RISC-V assembly.
Knowledge in cryptography and security-related topics (e.g., key management and authentication)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience.
