The Lochrann Resource Centre (LRC) in Wexford town provides day opportunities to support people with sight loss. LRC offers an individual programme on one of our 3 core strands: Skills4Stability, Skills4Life or Skills4Me.
VI currently is seeking a LRC Cook to assist the National Day & Hub Services Manager & Deputy Resource Centre Manager in the smooth running of a New Direction Centric Service.
You will ensure all service users who attend the day service have a healthy and nutritious meal & that the kitchen & canteen area is HACCP compliant.

You will be working within a fully HACCP compliant kitchen. As cook it is essential that you abide by all standard operating procedures extending to the safe handling and preparation of food.
You will be responsible for the safe handling, preparation of food and serving of meals & refreshments.
You will complete all appropriate HACCP documentation and key tasks, at the beginning, middle and end of each rostered shift.
You will be responsible for keeping the kitchen areas clean, hygienic and tidy at all times.
You will be responsible for menu planning, monitoring daily lunch orders, stock control & ordering of supplies.
You are also required to work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to the Management Team.
You will undergo all necessary training pertinent to the role of Cook at the designee of the Centre Manager when required.
You will be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety within the kitchen.
From time to time you will be required to facilitate and assist in sight guiding on outings and day trips from the centre.
To attend staff meetings as required
To actively promote the awareness of VI procedures in all aspects of employment
To ensure that all blind peoples personal property and VI's resources are respected and appropriately used
To ensure and maintain a safe and functional environment for both service users and staff
To support the National Day & Hub Services Manager in implementing & achieving LRC Operational Plan
To support the National Day & Hub Services Manager in the implementation of the HSE New Direction Policy & ensuring compliance with a Person Centered service.
To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by your line Manager or Senior Manager, relevant to the objectives of the post

Willingness to complete HACCP & Safe Food Training.
Level 5 HACCP Qualification
