Established in 1998, ÉireComposites operates an accredited composites design, manufacturing and testing facility in Inverin, Galway. With over 60 employees, we have the experience, depth expertise and knowledge supplying into aviation, space, renewables and mobility sectors. ÉireComposites is dedicated to improving society through the commercialisation of cutting-edge research on composite materials.
We are seeking to hire a Project Engineer who will be responsible for leading and supporting both commercial and research and development projects. This includes the design and manufacture of composite components and completion of the relevant documentation to meet customer and partner project needs within cost, schedule and performance specifications agreed.
- Deliver R&D and commercial projects across aviation, space, renewable energy, and mobility sectors.
- Manage requirements for each project such as scope, schedule and budget and ensuring reviews take place and are signed off.
- Liaise and interface with customers and suppliers.
- Work closely with the sales, operations and quality teams to plan and execute large projects.
- Perform research activities, draft and submit project reports.
- Design and manufacture of cutting-edge composite parts.
- Implement, update and create process control and quality management systems procedures, plan and record as required for each project.
- Facilitate defining the research agenda for the company and develop research proposals and commercial quotations for national/international funding bodies and commercial stakeholders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area ensure high standards of housekeeping and 6S to facilitate manufacturing and research functions.
- Work in a cleanroom environment/industrial production area as required.
- Cross train within the team and organisation as required.
- Undertake other duties within the competence and capacity of the role as required to support changing business needs from time to time.
- Education: A technical or scientific degree from a leading university, preferably in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, design, or a similar field.
- Experience:
- Good general technical skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
- A qualification in and or working knowledge of CAD/Solidworks desirable, not essential.
- A qualification in and or track record of Project Management desirable, not essential.
- Knowledge and experience of core composite manufacturing methods desirable, not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT.
