BMS Engineer / Electrician – Building Automation & Controls

We are seeking a skilled and motivated BMS Engineer or Electrician to join our growing team. Whether you come from a BMS background or are a qualified electrician looking to transition into building automation, we want to hear from you. Full training on BMS platforms and technologies will be provided, giving you the tools to develop a rewarding career in one of the fastest-growing areas of the construction and facilities sector.
In this role, you'll be involved in the commissioning, installation, testing, validation, and optimisation of BMS solutions across a variety of projects in the greater Dublin area.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site installation and/or commissioning of Building Management Systems using industry-standard platforms including Trend, Tridium, Siemens, ABB Cylon, and Regin.
- Work closely with design engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to align technical delivery with project goals.
- Carry out pre-functional checks, system testing, fault resolution, and final acceptance tests.
- Ensure systems are installed and commissioned in compliance with Functional Design Specifications and relevant programming standards.
- Maintain up-to-date logs of installation and commissioning progress, quality checks, and issue tracking.
- Support the preparation of technical submittals, functional design specifications (FDS), and tender documentation.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather project requirements or review system installations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, health & safety regulations, and energy efficiency guidelines.
- Stay up to date with the latest BMS technologies, smart building trends, and integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LON, etc.).
Requirements
- Electrical qualification (or equivalent trade background) — candidates from an electrical contracting background are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with BMS systems (e.g., Trend, Tridium, Siemens, ABB Cylon, Regin) is an advantage but not essential — full training will be provided.
- Good understanding of HVAC plant, electrical control panels, and building services is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Proficiency (or willingness to learn) in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- A full, clean driving licence is required.
