We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at our HQ in Mountmellick.
Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactional finance activities, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring strong financial governance across the business.
- Manage day-to-day financial accounting activities across the Irish operations
- Process and oversee supplier payments, customer receipts, and bank transactions
- Perform regular bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate purchase ledger and sales ledger records
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and supporting reconciliations
- Assist with cashflow monitoring and reporting
- Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in line with company procedures
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and supporting financial reports
- Support external audit and statutory reporting requirements
- Maintain strong financial controls and compliance standards
- Assist with continuous improvement of finance processes and systems
- Work closely with operational departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and transaction processing
Preferred background & experience
- Relevant accounting qualification or part-qualified accountant preferred
- Previous experience in a financial accounting or finance operations role
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, transactional finance, and financial controls
- Experience working within ERP/accounting systems environment
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly desirable
- Strong Microsoft Excel capability
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance team
