About the Role
The Queens, Dalkey is seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our professional kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to develop their culinary skills in a busy and dynamic hospitality environment while working alongside experienced kitchen professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in line with company standards.
- Prepare and portion ingredients, including vegetables, meats, and other food products.
- Ensure all dishes are consistently presented to a high standard.
- Support the Head Chef and collaborate effectively with the wider kitchen team.
- Receive, check, and organise deliveries, ensuring correct storage procedures are followed.
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and minimising food waste.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards throughout all kitchen areas.
- Follow HACCP procedures and food safety regulations at all times.
- Contribute positively to a team-focused and professional kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
- Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
