Care Network Ireland are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistants/ Household attendant in acute facility in Co Carlow to join our growing team supporting healthcare services across the public sector. This role offers the opportunity to work flexible shifts, gain valuable experience in a range of healthcare settings, and make a real difference by supporting patients and healthcare teams every day.
The Role
As a Catering Assistant/Household attendant, you will support the smooth running of catering services within healthcare facilities. Your duties will include:
Preparing, serving, and delivering meals to patients.
Supporting kitchen and ward-based catering operations.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
Following HACCP, infection control, and Health & Safety procedures.
Working as part of a supportive team to provide a high-quality service.
Clean patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to high standards.
Handle laundry duties, including washing and sorting linens and clothing.
Follow infection control and health & safety protocols.
Dispose of waste safely and maintain stock of cleaning supplies.
Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in catering, hospitality, cleaning, or a healthcare environment is desirable.
HACCP Level 2 and Patient & Manual Handling.
A positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Valid right to work documentation, including visa/IRP where applicable.
International Police Clearance required if you have lived overseas for 6+ months after the age of 16.
Experience in cleaning or household duties, preferably in healthcare.
Knowledge of hygiene and infection control.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks.
Reliable and punctual.
