Key Responsibilities
- Daily Cleaning: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust warehouse floors, aisles, staging areas, and high-traffic zones to maintain slip-resistant, debris-free surfaces and prevent product contamination
- Sanitation: Clean and sanitize toilets, locker rooms, and vending areas, ensuring hygiene standards are met
- Waste Management: Empty, sort, and dispose of rubish, according to company procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Use industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, sweepers, pressure washers, and vacuums safely and efficiently.
- Spill Response: Respond to spills of oil, chemicals, or products by containing, cleaning, and documenting incidents using proper PPE and spill kits.
- Exterior Maintenance: Conduct routine pressure washing of loading docks, ramps, and curbs to remove grease, oil, and debris, ensuring safe ingress and egress.
- Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety regulations, including PPE usage,
- Collaboration: Coordinate with warehouse staff and supervisors to prioritise cleaning tasks and minimize disruption to operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards .
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment safely.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and waste .
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights, and work in various warehouse conditions .
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with warehouse personnel.
Work Environment
Warehouse cleaners may work early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on the facility’s operating schedule. The role is essential for ensuring a safe, organised, and sanitary environment for all warehouse operations
