We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our busy team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be dealing with the public and tradespeople, managing specialized inventory, and maintaining a high standard of shop presentation.
key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent, friendly customer service and product advice.
- Process sales, card payments, and account transactions smoothly at the till.
- Unload, check, and safely merchandise incoming stock deliveries.
- Measure and cut ropes, chains, and wires to customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment on the shop floor and yard.
Requirements:
- Experience in retail hardware, building supplies, or a marine chandlery is highly desirable.
- Baseline knowledge or a strong interest in marine gear (ropes, paints, stainless steel fasteners) is a major advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable with manual handling and lifting heavy hardware goods.
- Flexible to work operational hours, including Saturdays.
