Job Summary:
The Accounts Assistant will support the finance team by performing day-to-day accounting tasks, assisting with financial reports, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Record Keeping:
- Process invoices, expenses, and payments accurately and on time.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the accounting software.
- 2. Reconciliation:
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in monthly account reconciliations.
3. Assisting with Financial Reporting:4. Accounts Payable & Receivable:5. Administrative Tasks:6. Compliance and Process Improvement:
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Help with end-of-month and end-of-year closing procedures.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Track outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Prepare and send customer invoices as needed.
- Assist with filing, data entry, and document management.
- Handle inquiries from suppliers, customers, and other departments.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function.
- Assist with internal and external audits.Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
