Position Description
This role represents a significant opportunity for an experienced people leader to guide one of Electric Ireland’s core Residential Billing and Database teams during a pivotal period of Organisational and industry change.
In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonizing electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, this role plays a central part in ensuring the integrity of billing processes, market data and customer communications. Reporting to the Residential Billing & Database Manager, the successful candidate will lead a high-performing, customer-focused operational team responsible for critical business processes underpinning key operational and customer KPIs.
The role requires strong leadership capability, a commitment to operational excellence and the ability to build team capability while ensuring compliance with industry regulations, governance requirements and customer service standards. The successful candidate will also contribute to future operational practices, digital transformation initiatives and cross-functional collaboration across the business and wider industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Residential Billing & Database team, fostering a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
Manage team performance, attendance, coaching, development, and workforce planning to meet business requirements.
Maintain training frameworks, procedural documentation, and effective knowledge management practices.
Deliver operational KPIs, ensuring quality, accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of team outputs.
Ensure strong governance, risk, control, audit, and compliance processes, including adherence to regulatory and market obligations.
Produce regulatory submissions and resolve complex customer, billing, and operational issues.
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting projects, testing activities, and organisational transformation initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
Proven people management and leadership experience, and s trong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
Experience delivering operational and process improvements.
Strong judgement, decision-making and problem-solving capability.
Commercial awareness and customer focus.
Experience managing operational performance and governance requirements.
Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable
Experience working within utility market processes.
Location
This position will be based in Swift Square, Santry.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week . All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€59,000 - €70,500 per annum (depending on experience)
