Mullan design and manufacture a wide range of bespoke and customised decorative lighting pieces for the retail, commercial and hospitality markets.
We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Lorry Driver to support our transport and warehouse operations. The role involves the safe delivery of goods, loading and unloading and ensuring all items are handled efficiently and securely.
The successful candidate will also be required to attend tradeshows abroad (typically 3-4 times a year), duration away can be 2-3days at a maximum.
Purpose of the Role:
To deliver goods to customers, warehouses, distribution centres, or other destinations in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a lorry safely in accordance with traffic laws and company procedures.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo correctly to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan delivery routes and follow schedules.
- Complete vehicle inspections before, during, and after journeys.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, delays, or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logbooks, and transport documentation.
- Ensure compliance with drivers' hours regulations and tachograph requirements.
- Verify delivery and collection paperwork, obtaining signatures where required.
- Communicate with dispatchers, transport managers, customers, and warehouse staff.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Handle goods carefully and ensure customer satisfaction during deliveries.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid HGV/LGV driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category.
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and transport legislation.
- Ability to use GPS and route-planning systems.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage long-distance journeys.

- Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, machinery, and moving equipment
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting required
Salary will depend on experience.
