Jono's has been a leading retailer of homeware, cookware and giftware in Monaghan Town since 1997. We are now looking for a friendly, capable and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistant to join our team.
This is a permanent position, with either part-time or full-time hours available by negotiation. This position requires regular availability during normal weekday retail hours as well as weekends. It is therefore not suitable for school students or applicants whose availability is limited to after-school hours or weekends only.
This role requires previous retail experience or experience in a customer-service focused role; direct experience with cookware or kitchenware would be particularly desirable.
Applicants must also be available to work Saturdays and/or possibly Sundays during the Christmas period).
The role will include:
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable and helpful service to customers,
- Operating EPOS tills accuratly and confidently (full training will be provided),
- Replenishing, organising and presenting stock throughout the shop and stock room,
- Monitoring and managing stock levels within designated areas, as well as stock displays, particularly our kitchenware and cookware department,
- Liaising with other staff members and suppliers and ordering stock required for the shop,
- Assisting with deliveries, pricing products, merchandising products for display and other daily duties of the shop,
- Working independently when required while supporting the wider team.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a genuine people person with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills,
- Communicate well with customers, colleagues and supplier representatives,
- Be organised, dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for areas of the shop,
- Be able to work under pressure - especially during peak period times when the shop is busy or when managing multiple tasks,
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team,
- Use their own initiative and be willing to help wherever needed,
- Have a positive can-do attitude and a willingness to learn,
- Be confident using the EPOS tills or willing to learn,
- Be flexible regarding working days and available to work varying weekday and weekend rota patterns,
- Have previous retail experience or or experience in a customerservice focused role; direct experience with cookware or kitchenware would be particularly desirable.
Pay: From €14.15 per hour
