As a Healthcare Assistant with Elm Homecare, you will provide personal, emotional, and practical support to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care
- Assist clients with daily living activities including dressing, washing, toileting, mobility, and feeding.
- Support clients in maintaining comfort, hygiene, and independence.
Emotional Support
- Provide companionship and encourage social interaction.
- Support clients’ emotional well-being through respectful and compassionate care.
Domestic Support
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Accurately record care provided.
- Report any changes in a client’s health or behaviour to supervisors promptly.
Compliance
- Follow all health, safety, safeguarding, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and client care at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or relevant modules, including:
- Care Skills
- Care of the Older Person
Experience
- Previous experience in a care or support role is required.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety procedures is desirable.
