Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Auditor will support the organisation's compliance with the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres, 2018, and all relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
The postholder will be responsible for
1. Carrying out quality assurance audits across residential services, monitoring compliance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that corrective actions arising from audits are implemented effectively.
2.Contributing to maintaining robust governance and quality assurance systems across the organisation.
The Quality Assurance Auditor will deputise for the Quality Assurance Manager as required and will assume appropriate responsibilities during periods of planned or unplanned absence.

Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced audits of residential centres, records, and practices.
- Review documentation, including case files, care plans, risk assessments, incidents, and training records, to ensure compliance.
- Monitor compliance with National Standards, legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify good practice and improvement areas, providing recommendations to management.
- Prepare audit reports and monitor completion of corrective actions.
- Escalate compliance, safeguarding, or quality concerns promptly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Quality Improvement
- Support the development and implementation of the Quality Management System.
- Assist with audit tools, compliance monitoring processes, and quality assurance systems.
- Analyse audit findings and performance data to support service improvements.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement, and accountability.
- Share learning and best practice across services.
Governance and Monitoring
- Monitor performance against inspection requirements and quality standards.
- Support inspection preparation and ongoing compliance readiness.
- Collect, analyse, and report on quality assurance data and outcomes.
- Assist in preparing reports for senior management and governance meetings.
Training and Support
- Provide guidance to staff on quality assurance and compliance requirements.
- Support the delivery of quality-related training and awareness initiatives.
- Assist managers in implementing audit recommendations and improvement plans.
- Promote consistent record keeping and compliance practices across services.
Service User Feedback and Evaluation
- Gather and analyse feedback from children, families, staff, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to service improvement recommendations based on feedback and audit findings.
- Support evaluations of the organisation's Model of Care and quality initiatives.
Acting Up Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Quality Assurance Manager during periods of absence.
- Represent the Quality Assurance function at meetings and forums as required.
- Ensure continuity of audit, monitoring, and compliance activities.
- Escalate significant risks to the Head of Quality, Risk and Practice where appropriate.
- Support inspection and regulatory responses in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- Relevant third-level qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline.
- Full driving licence and access to transport.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in children's residential care, social care, social work, or a related regulated service.
- Experience of auditing, compliance monitoring, quality assurance, or inspection preparation.
- Knowledge of the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres and relevant legislation.
- Experience producing reports and monitoring corrective action plans.
