My Psychology Ireland is a psychology practice based in Galway City, offering psychological therapy to children, adolescents, and adults both in person and online. Our practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches and a compassionate, collaborative ethos.
Role Description
We are seeking a chartered psychologist (Counselling, Clinical, or Educational) to join our team to work primarily with children and adolescents.
The Psychologist will be responsible for:
- Providing psychological therapy and mental health support.
- Conducting psychological assessments where trained.
- Collaborating with parents, schools, medical professionals, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Contributing to case discussions and service development initiatives.
Opportunities to work with adults may be included depending on interest and experience. While the role is primarily based in Galway, there is flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Chartered membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (essential).
- Eligible for CORU registration from 2026.
- Own professional indemnity insurance.
- Experience in mental health assessment and support, particularly with child populations.
- Knowledge of medical and psychological research.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Empathy and compassion for patients.
- Understanding of ethical guidelines and professional standards.
- Doctorate or Masters in Psychology (enabling chartered membership with the PSI).
