What You Will Do
- Prepare meals and help with light household duties
- Prompt or supervise medication in line with individual care plans
- Provide companionship, conversation and emotional reassurance
- Help clients begin and end their days with dignity and kindness
- Maintain accurate care records and report changes in wellbeing
- Support clients to live safely, comfortably and independently in their own homes Assist with personal care, mobility and daily routines
What You Will Need
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, or a willingness to enrol and work towards the qualification
- Good spoken and written English
- The legal right to work in Ireland
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude
- The confidence to work independently while remaining part of a supportive team
- A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required for certain locations and schedules
- Non-driving opportunities may also be available in selected areas
Previous care experience is an advantage, but your attitude, values and willingness to learn matter just as much to us.
Practical Induction and Training
We want every Kare Plan carer to begin their role feeling confident, capable and fully supported. Our comprehensive induction combines essential knowledge with practical, hands-on training in a welcoming learning environment.
Training includes:
- Personal care practice using a healthcare training mannequin
- Stoma and catheter care
- Patient movement , Safe mobility, transfers and equipment use
- Manual handling training, with certification on successful completion
- Infection prevention and control
- Dementia Awareness
- Medication awareness and safeguarding
- Care documentation and reporting
Supported shadowing and additional role-specific training are also provided, helping carers feel prepared and reassured before working independently.
