AMK Ireland is part of the German AMK Group, and are renowned for delivering state-of-the-art automotive Air Suspension Systems. We design electronically controlled air suspension systems for the automotive industry. Our systems are supplied both as OEM solutions integrated during vehicle production and as aftermarket conversion kits to convert existing vehicles to air suspension.
We are recruiting Systems Engineer to to join our growing engineering team.
This role involves working closely with customers and vehicle manufacturers to define system requirements, develop new product architectures, and bring products from concept through to production. Customers may not always have a clear understanding of air suspension technology, so the successful candidate must be comfortable translating vague or incomplete customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
The role also includes vehicle integration, system configuration, calibration, validation, and occasional travel to customer and vehicle manufacturer testing sites.

As a Systems Engineer you will:
- Work directly with customers to understand and define vehicle and system requirements
- Translate customer needs into clear system and software requirements
- Design system architectures for electronically controlled air suspension systems
- Define and manage system behaviour and control strategies
- Support development activities from concept phase through to production release
- Perform system configuration, calibration, integration, and validation on vehicles
- Support testing and commissioning activities both internally and at customer sites
- Work closely with software, electronics, and mechanical engineering teams
- Participate in vehicle testing and customer visits, including occasional international travel
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, with a minimum of level 8 in Computer Science, engineering or related discipline.
- Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline
- Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols and networks including:
- CAN
- CAN FD
- FlexRay
- LIN
- UDS
- Understanding of automotive standards and regulatory environments including:
- ISO 26262
- ISO 21434
- Good knowledge of control theory and closed-loop control systems
- Experience with ASPICE development processes
- Experience writing, managing, and validating technical requirements
- Understanding of suspension systems and pneumatics
Nice to Have
- Experience with embedded C development in an automotive environment
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR-based systems
- Experience with Vector toolchain including:
- CANoe
- CANape
- CANdela
- Experience with vehicle calibration and tuning
- Second language advantageous
