Role: Relief Health Care Assistant
Location: Covering 2 day care centres in Dublin 11 & Dublin 13
Reporting To: Nurse Manager
Terms: Relief work covering leave
Hourly rate: 15.40 per hour
Job Purpose: The role of the Care Assistant is to provide personal care services to promote the social wellbeing of clients within the Day Care Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing positive caring relationships with all clients
Promote personal care services including assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, provision of meals and social care support. HCAs also monitor health changes and report their care and observations to the nurse manager.
Liaise with families, receive reports of ongoing health issues, adapt
Escorting and assisting clients within the centre
To assist in the setting-up and delivering activities
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Required Experience and Skills:
Have completed a Care Assistants course or other relevant course.
First Aid
CPR
Manual handling
HSEland safeguarding
Infection control
Caring for SU with dementia training
Have completed a Care Assistants course or other relevant course.
Requires 3-5 years of experience.
Good communications and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate a genuine interest in people
Show an aptitude and empathy in relating with older persons
Team player and flexibility in their attitude to work
Qualifications:
Requires a structured training FETAC level 5 Care Skills for caring for Older People
