Job Title: Night Shift Retail Garage Assistant
Job Description:
Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of a retail garage during overnight hours by providing excellent customer service, maintaining stock levels, and keeping the premises clean, safe, and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Operate the till and process cash, card, and contactless payments accurately.
- Replenish shelves, fridges, and displays to ensure products are well stocked.
- Monitor fuel pumps and assist customers when required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shop, forecourt, and customer areas.
- Carry out opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation.
- Receive and check deliveries, rotating stock and monitoring expiry dates.
- Follow health and safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor security systems and report any suspicious activity or incidents.
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently.
Skills and Qualities:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
- Good cash-handling and numeracy skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Flexible and dependable, with the ability to work overnight shifts.
- Basic IT and point-of-sale (POS) system knowledge.
Experience:
- Previous retail, customer service, or petrol station experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience with cash handling and stock management is an advantage.
