Job Title: BookkeeperJob Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for the organisation. This includes recording financial transactions, managing accounts, reconciling bank statements, and supporting the preparation of financial reports to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Record daily financial transactions in accounting systems
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and supplier statements
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense claims
- Assist with payroll processing where required
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
- Monitor cash flow and highlight any discrepancies
- Maintain organised filing systems for financial documents
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and other stakeholders
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (e.g. IATI, ATI, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role
- Experience with payroll and VAT returns (desirable)
- Knowledge of Irish financial regulations (desirable)
Reporting To
- Finance Manager / Financial Controller (or relevant position)
Working Conditions
- Office-based / Hybrid
- Standard working hours with flexibility as required during financial reporting periods

Pay: €35,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
