About Burns Farm Meats:
Burns Farm Meats is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team in Moneygold, Grange, Co. Sligo.
This is a hands-on position covering a range of duties across meat processing, preparation, packing and general production operations.
The successful candidate will work as part of a busy team and will be expected to maintain high standards of quality, hygiene and food safety throughout all areas of the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- General meat processing and production duties
- Preparation and handling of meat products.
- Cutting, trimming and portioning meat as required.
- Operating mincing equipment and assisting with the production of minced meat products.
- Weighing meat and finished products accurately.
- Packing and preparing products for storage, sale and distribution.
- Labelling finished products accurately, including weights, product information and traceability details.
- Operating weighing, labelling and other production equipment.
- Receiving and handling incoming products and materials where required.
- Moving, rotating and organising stock within production and storage areas.
- Maintaining clean and hygienic work areas, equipment and machinery.
- Following all food hygiene, HACCP, health & safety and company procedures.
- Carrying out manual handling, lifting and general physical duties associated with the role.
- Completing general production and operational duties as required by management.
- Working closely with other members of the team to ensure production requirements are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience within meat processing, butchery, food production, manufacturing or a similar environment would be an advantage.
- Previous experience is desirable but not essential, with training provided for the right candidate.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on and physically demanding environment.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when weighing, packing and labelling products.Ability to follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team.Good standard of spoken and written English.
- Willingness to learn and undertake a variety of duties across the operation.
