Our client, a large acute healthcare organisation, is seeking an experienced Energy, Sustainability and Decarbonisation Programme Consultant to join their Infrastructure and Support Services team on a two-year contract basis in Dublin 24. This is a senior, high-impact role that will drive the development, funding, and delivery of the organisation's Energy and Sustainability Strategy in line with public sector climate action obligations.
The successful candidate will act as the strategic lead for all energy and decarbonisation activity, working closely with the in-house Energy and Asset Manager to deliver a fully costed, phased programme aligned with statutory emissions reduction targets of 51% by 2030 and net zero by 2050.

Responsibilities

Review, validate, and update the organisation's existing Energy and Sustainability Strategy, establishing an auditable energy, carbon, and sustainability baseline.

Develop a highly actionable, phased decarbonisation roadmap with detailed multi-year CAPEX and OPEX profiling for executive financial planning.

Identify, cost, and secure financing for estate and engineering interventions, including SEAI Public Sector grants and HSE capital funding.

Lead programme delivery across approved projects, managing contractor coordination and stakeholder alignment while protecting live healthcare operations.

Establish executive-level reporting dashboards and a benefits realisation framework explicitly linked to energy reduction and carbon performance targets.
Requirements

7+ years experience in delivering energy infrastructure or sustainability projects within a live, operational acute healthcare environment.

Demonstrable experience formulating sustainability strategies and translating them into fully costed, phased implementation plans.

Documented success in applying for and securing SEAI grants and public sector capital funding for large-scale energy programmes.

Experience managing energy programmes across large, complex estates with high-density energy demands.

Strong programme management, stakeholder engagement, and financial modelling skills.
