Full-Time Childminder (Early Years / Preschool Experience Highly Valued)

Role Type: Home-based childcare role (not a crèche or preschool setting)
We are a warm, organised family based in Blackrock, Cork seeking an experienced and reliable full-time childminder with strong early years or preschool experience to support our two young children aged 4 and 5 within our home.
This role would particularly suit someone with a background as a Preschool Teacher, Early Years Educator, or SNA, who enjoys working in a smaller, more personalised environment and supporting children’s development in a home setting.
One of our children has additional needs, so we are looking for someone nurturing, proactive, and confident in supporting emotional regulation, routine, and development. We hope to find a calm, capable presence who can provide consistency, structure, and warmth within our home.
Role Includes:
- School drop-offs and collections
- Homework and academic support
- Supporting after-school activities and structured play
- Outdoor adventures and active engagement
- Emotional regulation support where required
- Meal preparation for the children
- Light housekeeping and general running of the home while the children are in school
- Maintaining routine and organisation
Schedule
Monday to Friday
11:30am – 6:30pm
Essential Requirements
- Proven previous childcare experience
- Experience supporting children with additional needs
- Full clean driving licence and own car (required for school drop-offs and collections)
- Excellent references
- Background as a Preschool Teacher, Early Years Educator or SNA
- Experience working within structured educational or therapeutic settings
- Strong understanding of early childhood development
