Job Title: Accommodation Assistant
Location: The Dawson Hostel Galway
Reports To: Hostel Manager / Acommodation Supervisor
Salary: Hourly Pay
Job Purpose:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas within the hostel. This includes daily cleaning tasks, laundry services, and ensuring a comfortable environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to the highest standards.
- Change bed linens, replenish towels, and provide any necessary amenities.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Maintain the cleanliness of public areas such as lounges, kitchens, reception and corridors.
- Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding.
- Report any maintenance issues or damage to management.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and report low inventory.
- Follow health and safety standards to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Good attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move cleaning supplies or equipment.
- Basic understanding of cleaning products and safety procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Working hours are required to be flexible for weekends and holidays. Must be available bewteen the hours of 7am & 3pm
- Physical work involved, including bending, lifting, and carrying items.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Frequent interaction with guests and other staff members.
- Must adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak check-in and check-out times.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From €14.65 per hour
