Role
We are seeking a highly versatile Multi-Skilled HGV Driver & Industrial Operative. This is a dual-function role combining the safe operation of a crane truck with industrial finishing, painting, and dispatch duties. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in heavy vehicle transport who is also proficient in steel erection and surface preparation and protective coating applications.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Logistics:
Safely operate an HGV/crane truck for the transport of steel and fabricated materials.
Load, secure, and unload steel/metal materials
Comply with EU/Irish transport regulations, tachograph rules, and daily vehicle checks.
Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate professionally with management and customers.
Perform daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance to ensure roadworthiness
Industrial Finishing & Workshop Duties:
Carry out abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and industrial painting of steel components.
Apply protective coatings, stencilling, and product identification.
Perform finishing work including grinding, cleaning, and touch-ups.
Assist with cladding, roofing, and general yard/dispatch duties as required.
Inspect finished products to ensure high-quality standards.
Essential Requirements
Valid CE HGV driving licence (zero penalty points preferred).
Minimum 5 years' experience operating HGV vehicles.
Experience in industrial painting and surface preparation (blasting/coating).
Experience in steel erection, assembly, or metal fabrication.
Strong English communication skills and a safety-conscious attitude.
Physically capable of manual handling and working outdoors/in a workshop.
Desirable (Preference will be given to candidates with):
Experience in metal fabrication, steel erection, and/or welding.
Experience in paint spraying steel components.
Knowledge of cladding and roofing work
Pay: From €37,000.00 per year
