About Fitall Shopfitters
Fitall Shopfitters is a retail fitout and signage company based in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick, with over 25 years in business. We design, manufacture and install shop and commercial fit-outs across Ireland, taking projects from initial design and consultation through to bespoke manufacture in our workshop and final installation on site. Our customers include food and convenience retailers, forecourt and symbol-group stores such as Gala, Costcutter, Londis and Carry Out, Top Oil filling stations, and a range of opticians, jewellers, schools and independent stores.
Our day-to-day work spans both manufacturing and installation. In the workshop, we produce shelving and gondola units, counters and sales desks, slatwall and pegboard displays, timber and acrylic stands, garment rails, school furniture and joinery made to suit each project. Our team of fitters install these on the customer’s premises, alongside signage and graphics work, with many projects combining standard units and custom-built pieces.
The Role
We are searching for a shop fitter or cabinetmaker to join our team. The role combines bench joinery in the workshop with installation work on customer sites. In the workshop, you will manufacture counters, shelving, display units, cabinets and bespoke joinery to specification. On site, you will fit out completed jobs and carry out signage work, frequently in stores that are trading or about to open.
We welcome applications across the experience range, from recently qualified through to time-served tradespeople. The position is based in Abbeyfeale and requires a willingness to travel nationwide for site work. A company van is provided.
What the job involves
- Manufacturing fittings and joinery in the workshop, including counters, shelving, gondola units, display units, cabinets and bespoke timber pieces
- Interpreting and working from technical drawings, cutting lists and plans, and adapting standard units to suit individual jobs
- Marking out, machining, cutting and assembling board materials such as melamine, laminate and MDF, as well as solid timber
- Edge-banding, laminating and finishing components to a high standard
- Operating workshop machinery (panel saw, edgebander and similar) alongside a full range of hand and power tools, and working safely throughout
- Fitting out completed jobs on customer sites: levelling and securing units, scribing to walls and floors, and finishing and snagging
- Carrying out signage work, including applying graphics and vinyls to windows and surfaces and installing shop signage
- Working cleanly and efficiently to minimise disruption, as many stores remain trading or reopen shortly afterwards
Requirements
Essential
- A recognised trade qualification in carpentry and joinery, or solid hands-on experience as a cabinetmaker or shopfitting joiner
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and cutting lists, or the aptitude to learn quickly
- Competence with hand and power tools, and a willingness to work on workshop machinery
- A full, clean driving licence, as the role involves driving the company van to and from sites
- Willingness to travel nationwide for installation work
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Desirable
- Previous experience in shopfitting, retail fit-out or commercial joinery
- Site installation experience, including scribing, levelling and snagging
- Experience applying graphics or vinyls and installing signage
- Familiarity with board materials and laminate or melamine finishes
You will have good attention to detail, take pride in the quality of your finish, and work well as part of a small team.
What we offer
- Full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday
- Pay negotiable, depending on experience
- Company van provided for site work
- Varied projects rather than repetitive production work
- An established team that takes pride in its work
