Job description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Senior Service Support Engineer to join our HVAC division. This role combines technical sales support, estimation, and hands-on project involvement. You will work closely with senior engineers, contractors, and suppliers to assist with the design, quotation, specification, and maintenance of HVAC systems across a wide range of building types.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5+ years in their HVAC career and looking to grow within a dynamic, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, selection, and quotation of HVAC systems including MVHR, ductwork, pipework, chilled water, and heating/cooling solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, schedules, specifications, and tender documents.
- Support project delivery by liaising with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Attend site visits, assisting with surveys, inspections, and commissioning.
- Ensure HVAC designs meet energy efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory standards (e.g. ASHRAE, CIBSE, LEED, BREEAM).
- Stay current with building regulations, HVAC technologies, and best practices.
- Provide after-sales technical support and assist with service and maintenance queries.
- Report on activities and maintain organised project and diary records.
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- Prior experience in HVAC, M&E, or building services roles.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or HVAC design software (e.g. Hevacomp, IES VE, HAP).
- Strong interest and understanding of HVAC systems and building services.
- Familiar with mechanical and electrical elements of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient design and green building standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Team-oriented, with a strong desire to learn and develop within the role.
- Full clean driving licence (travel for site visits and training required).
- Fluent English and professional demeanour.
- Willingness to attend manufacturer training in Ireland, the UK, or Europe.
- Able to work independently, manage a diary, and meet reporting deadlines.
