Job: QA Lead
Location: Dublin (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite)
Contract: 12 months
-
Proven experience leading QA activities across Agile Scrum teams.
-
Strong ownership of end-to-end quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
-
Experience making release recommendations and balancing delivery timelines against quality risks.
-
Strong stakeholder management with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Developers, and Business teams.
-
Experience defining QA strategy, test planning, quality metrics, defect management, release readiness, and quality governance.
-
Strong hands-on background in test automation (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, API Automation, CI/CD etc.).
-
Practical experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) as part of day-to-day QA activities.
The client is not looking for someone who simply mentions AI tools on their CV.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate practical examples of using AI to improve QA delivery, such as:
-
test generation
-
defect analysis
-
automation improvements
-
documentation
-
productivity improvements
-
supporting QA processes
Experience building AI agents or AI frameworks is beneficial, but it is not the primary selection criterion.
Candidates must be able to clearly explain:
-
How they make Go / No-Go release decisions.
-
How they manage quality risk when delivery deadlines are under pressure.
-
How they measure the health of quality across a squad.
-
How they estimate testing effort and prioritise testing activities.
-
Examples where they challenged delivery timelines because quality was at risk.
-
How they influence stakeholders and communicate difficult quality decisions.
The client is looking for clear communication, structured thinking, and strong judgement, not only technical expertise.
Please avoid submitting candidates whose experience is primarily focused on:
-
Senior Automation Engineer
-
SDET
-
Automation Framework Architect
-
AI/LLM Engineering
-
Technical QA Architect
unless they can clearly demonstrate ownership of QA leadership, release governance, quality strategy, and stakeholder management.
The strongest candidates for this role are those who combine technical credibility with mature Test Lead experience and excellent communication.
