Seasonal Photography Manager – Palmerstown House Estate
Photo Experience is recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Photography Manager to lead our photography team at Palmerstown House Estate in Johnstown, Co. Kildare, for the Christmas season.
This is a hands-on operational role. You will manage the day-to-day photography operation, lead and motivate the team, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that sales opportunities are maximised throughout the event.
You do not need to be a professional photographer. We are looking for a strong people manager who is commercially focused, organised and comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment. Full training on our photography equipment and sales systems will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the daily photography and sales operation
- Leading, supporting and motivating the photography team
- Delivering a friendly and engaging visitor experience
- Driving sales and working towards agreed performance targets
- Training staff in photography, customer service and sales techniques
- Preparing rotas and ensuring shifts are adequately covered
- Monitoring staff performance and providing ongoing feedback
- Completing daily equipment checks and reporting technical issues
- Managing photographic stock and venue supplies
- Completing daily reports and communicating results
- Working closely with the event management and Photo Experience operational teams
- Keeping the photography and sales areas clean, organised and customer-ready
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Confidence leading a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving
- The ability to remain calm and positive during busy periods
- Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and peak Christmas dates
Previous experience in photography, retail, hospitality, events or visitor attractions would be helpful.

Contract: Seasonal Christmas position
Hours: Full-time seasonal hours, including weekends, evenings and peak dates
Pay: From €16.00 per hour
