The Role
As Head Mixologist, you will take ownership of the cocktail programme across Coach House Bar and Parterre, ensuring every drink reflects creativity, consistency and excellence.
You will work closely with the Food & Beverage Management team to develop seasonal menus, introduce new concepts, mentor bartenders and continuously raise service standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time on the floor engaging with guests, coaching the team and delivering exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the cocktail programme across Coach House Bar and Parterre.

Design, develop and implement innovative seasonal cocktail menus that reflect current trends while complementing the hotel's luxury offering.

Create signature cocktails unique to The Johnstown Estate.

Maintain exceptional standards of drink quality, presentation and consistency.

Train, mentor and inspire bar teams, developing cocktail knowledge, service skills and product expertise.

Deliver structured cocktail and spirits training for new and existing team members.

Work alongside Bar Managers to improve service standards and guest engagement.

Source premium ingredients and collaborate with suppliers to introduce new products and experiences.

Ensure effective stock management, beverage costing and waste control to maximise profitability.

Monitor beverage trends and identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience.

Support the planning and delivery of cocktail masterclasses, tasting events and seasonal promotions.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety and responsible service of alcohol regulations.
About You
You are passionate about mixology, hospitality and developing people. You combine creativity with commercial awareness and thrive in a fast-paced luxury environment.
You will have:

Proven experience as a Senior Mixologist, Head Bartender or Head Mixologist within a premium hotel, cocktail bar or luxury hospitality venue.

Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, modern mixology techniques, premium spirits and wine.

A creative approach to menu development and beverage innovation.

Experience training, mentoring and developing bar teams.

Strong leadership and organisational skills.

Excellent communication and guest engagement abilities.

A sound understanding of stock control, GP management and beverage costing.

A commitment to delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
