Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Liaising with data providers
Contacting and maintaining a list of service providers and other stakeholders including management of the mailbox for general queries
Supporting data providers
Assisting with the formatting and upload of data from data providers.
Training data providers
Providing and assisting with training in data collection for participating data providers
Assisting with the development of training materials.
Maintaining quality of NHIS data.
- Cleaning data using standard validations and logical checks
Implementing strategies to improve data quality in-house and with data providers.
Analysing and disseminating data.
- Providing statistical outputs to data requests from stakeholders and data providers
Writing and assisting with writing annual reports, research papers, journal articles, trend papers/bulletins as appropriate
Contributing to steering committee and other stakeholder meetings as required
Presenting data outputs/papers at meetings or conferences as appropriate.
Updating data dictionary and protocols
Scoping new questions
Updating files for cleaning, coding and analysing data.
Assisting with the LINK management/development.
- Checking/testing changes to the LINK system
Contributing to enhancement of the LINK system, including data visualisation.
Participating in Team-related activities.
- Contributing to formal and informal Team and NHIS Unit meetings
Contributing to appropriate Unit and organisational committees.
Essential knowledge and experience
Formal requirements include
- Successful candidate must have a minimum of an NFQ Level 8 Qualification (Honours degree or equivalent) with at least three years’ relevant experience (such as managing and analysing large-scale databases or surveys).
Proficiency in using Excel and data analysis packages such as SPSS and R is required as is experience of writing and preparing documents for publication.
Experience in SQL for data analysis, Power BI and R Shiny for data visualisation is desirable.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and familiarity with database applications is an advantage.
