Long Term Part-Time Practice Nurse Required – Portmarnock
Starting September 2026
We are a progressive, welcoming GP practice in Portmarnock looking for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team on a long term part-time basis (up to 20-24 hours per week) from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary environment utilising your current expertise and upskilling where necessary. If needed, an experienced Practice Nurse will support and train candidates in the role, including use of the Socrates GP clinical software system.
Working Hours
- Wednesday and Thursday – full days +/- Friday PM
- Approximately 2–2.5 days per week (up to 24 hours)
Role & Responsibilities
➢ Phlebotomy
➢ Childhood/adult vaccinations
➢ Cervical screening
➢ Chronic disease mgmt
➢ Skin and wound care, suture removal
➢ Telephone triage & patient advice
➢ ECGs and 24-hour ABPM
➢ Injection administration
➢ Clinical stock management
➢ Clinical administration using GP software
Essential Requirements
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) currently registered with the NMBI, min 2 yr experience
- Excellent communication & organisational skills, hardworking, conscientious team player.
- Valid permission to work in Ireland (EU/EEA, Stamp 4/1G)
Desirable
- Previous experience in GP is ideal but not mandatory.
