The Resuscitation Training Officer (RTO) is responsible for the provision of training and cardiac arrest management that is responsive to the needs of the hospital and ensures that (a) patients receive the highest possible standard of care and (b) staff are supported in their work.
The R.T.O. will
- Be responsible for the planning, designing, delivering and evaluating resuscitation training in the Hospital

Ensure all training equipment is maintained

Be responsible for keeping up to date with best practice and to ensure competence and professional development

Lead and assist with the development of appropriate teaching aids and be available to teach and act as a resource in any situation where the expertise is required.

Evaluate all resuscitation procedures, techniques and equipment in order to assess and continuously improve quality of care being offered to patient.

Be part of cardiac arrest team when on duty
Essential Experience:

Possess 5 years post registration experience

Have successfully completed BLS Instructor course and or be an ACLS provider.

Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an acute setting e.g. CCU, ICU, A&E or similar

Possess excellent I.T. skills
