We are seeking an experienced Stores Operative to join our team based in our OSM Workshop Stores in Waterford. The successful candidate will report to the OSM Manager and be responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, control, and issue of materials, tools, and equipment within the OSM workshop and warehouse environment.
The role supports the manufacture and assembly of mechanical modules for semiconductor projects by ensuring materials are available, correctly identified, traceable, and delivered to production teams as required.
The post holder will maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock accuracy, quality control, and safety while contributing to the timely delivery of project schedules.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Receive deliveries from suppliers and verify quantities against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Inspect incoming materials for damage, quality issues, and compliance with project specifications.
Record goods received in the inventory management system.
Ensure all materials are labelled, identified, and stored correctly.
Escalate discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory locations and Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy targets.
Carry out regular cycle counts and support periodic stock audits.
Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items.
Ensure full traceability of materials, particularly project-specific and client-supplied items.
Ensure materials are issued in accordance with production schedules and work orders.
Support project teams by ensuring timely delivery of materials to workstations.
Return unused materials to stock following established procedures.
Load and unload deliveries using appropriate handling equipment.
Safely move materials within the warehouse and workshop.
Prepare materials and equipment for shipment to site locations.
Assist in packaging and securing completed OSM modules for transport.
Maintain clean and organised storage locations.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Previous experience working in a warehouse, stores, logistics, or materials handling environment, preferably within M&E, construction, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
Previous knowledge of semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data centre, or cleanroom projects.
Good understanding of warehouse processes and material control.
Ability to read delivery notes, stock lists, and works orders.
Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience supporting OSM/modular construction activities.
Forklift Licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck) a plus but not essential
