The Tara Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our Kitchen Team.
Located overlooking Killybegs Harbour, the newly refurbished Tara Hotel is home to the Waterfront Restaurant, Pier Bar and a growing range of hospitality facilities. Our food offering celebrates the very best of Donegal and West of Ireland produce, with a particular focus on fresh local seafood, quality meats, game and locally grown ingredients.

The Role
Reporting to the Head Chef and senior members of the Kitchen Team, the Commis Chef will assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of food to the high standards expected at the Tara Hotel.
You will work as part of a professional kitchen team, gaining valuable experience across different sections while developing your culinary knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with menu specifications and hotel standards.
- Carry out basic food preparation, including chopping, portioning, weighing and preparation of ingredients.
- Assist senior chefs across different kitchen sections as required.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the kitchen.
- Follow all HACCP, food safety, health and safety procedures and hotel policies.
- Ensure food is stored correctly and that stock is handled appropriately.
- Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and maintaining food storage areas.
- Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
- Keep workstations, equipment and kitchen areas clean and organised at all times.
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
- Support the wider Kitchen Team with daily operations and other duties as required.

Previous kitchen experience or a relevant culinary qualification would be an advantage, but full training and development will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: From €15.00 per hour
