Junior Explorers Childcare Service
Part-Time position
Junior Explorers is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable childcare Assistant to join our growing team. We are a brand new service, opening in Dodderbrook, Dublin 24 and are excited to have people join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting children safely from local primary schools and supporting the daily running of our childcare service. During school holidays the role involves working as part of our full day childcare programme, creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect children safely from designated primary schools.
* Supervise children during school collections and throughout the childcare session.
* Plan and participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, STEM activities, and homework support.
* Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children at all times.
* Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and service policies and procedures.
* Assist with snack preparation, tidying, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
* Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns to management.
Essential Requirements
* A clean, full, valid driver licence
* A genuine passion for working with children.
* Reliable, punctual, and caring.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Garda Vetting
* Ability to work using your own initiative.
Desirable
* Previous experience working with children.
* A relevant childcare qualification (or currently studying towards one).
* First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
Hours
* Flexible hours available.
* The role includes afternoon shifts during the school term and additional/full-day hours during school holidays and other service operating times.
