Part-Time Senior Technical Solar Lead
Dublin / Leinster | Flexible Part-Time Role
Global Home Improvements is launching a dedicated residential solar division and is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Solar Lead to provide technical leadership, survey support, quality assurance, compliance oversight and installer guidance.
Purpose of the Role
To provide technical leadership across the development, surveying, design, installation and quality assurance of Global’s residential solar division, while helping improve the systems, standards, processes and technical blueprint that will underpin future growth.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Surveying, Design & Pre-Installation Leadership
· Carry out residential solar surveys during the initial growth phase., Assess roof suitability, orientation, shading and structural considerations.
Review electrical infrastructure, consumer units and installation constraints.
2. Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance
· Provide technical oversight across all residential solar installations.· Conduct site inspections and quality audits.
· Continuously improve installation methods and technical standards.
3. Health, Safety & Compliance
· Act as the senior technical adviser on installation safety and compliance.
· Ensure compliance with Safe Electric requirements, Irish electrical regulations, SEAI standards and manufacturer guidelines.
· Support risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
· Identify and mitigate safety, quality and compliance risks.
· Assist with certification, documentation and audit readiness.
4. Installer Development & Technical Standards
· Support recruitment and assessment of installation teams. Mentor electricians, roofers and installers. Develop installation manuals, workmanship standards and best-practice guidelines.
· Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
5. Customer Support & Technical Escalations
· Support resolution of complex technical customer issues.
· Provide guidance on system performance and fault diagnosis.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
· Significant experience in residential Solar PV installations.
· Strong knowledge of domestic solar systems, batteries and inverters.
· Thorough understanding of Irish electrical regulations and Safe Electric requirements.
· Experience inspecting installations and identifying quality or compliance issues.
· Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
· Full driving licence.
Highly Desirable
· Qualified Electrician.
· QC / Qualified Certifier status.
· Experience with SEAI-registered solar projects.
· Experience managing or auditing solar installation teams.

· Technically credible and highly experienced.
· Strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.
· Practical, solutions-oriented and commercially aware.
· Comfortable advising management, installers and customers.
· Able to maintain high standards without unnecessary complexity.
Working Arrangement
Flexible part-time structure (typically 2–3 days per week), combining site visits, technical reviews and team support. Greater involvement is expected during the launch phase before moving to an ongoing advisory role.

Pay: €40,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
